چکیده
In this paper, we show that it is possible to accomplish belief revision in any logic which is translatable to classical logic. We start with the example of the propositional modal logic K and show that a belief operation in K de ned in terms of K0s translation to classical logic veri es the AGM postulates. We also consider the case of non-classical logics by taking Belnap's four-valued logic [5] as an example. A sound and complete axiomatization of that logic in classical logic is given and then used in the de nition of a belief revision operator for the logic in terms of a classical AGM operator. We show that the operator also veri es the AGM postulates whenever they make sense in the context of non-classical logics.

Cultural Orientations of Iranian English Translation Students: Do Gender and Translation Quality Matter?
The present exploratory study aimed to construct and apply a localized questionnaireto investigate the cultural orientations of Iranian English translation students. It alsoexamined the relationship between cultural orientations of Iranian Englishtranslation students, their gender, and translation quality. This mixed-methods study,in the first phase, used focus group interviews to form a pool o...
متن کاملConcept Revision of Age, Motivation, and Error Correction in Second Language Learning
The current review article investigates some variables contributing to English language teaching and learning. Three factors of age, motivation and error correction have been of importance in English language curricula in language centres. Some studies have been conducted to investigate various effects of these three components on English language acquisition, those studies, however, may lack d...
متن کاملOn drafting and revision in translation: a corpus linguistics oriented analysis of translation process data
This paper reports on a study which investigates prototypical characteristics of the drafting and revision phases of the translation process, mapped onto the sequential unfolding of micro translation units into macro translation units (MTUs). By using Litterae, an annotation and search tool designed to mark, annotate and extract XML files of key-logged translation process data, the paper analys...
متن کاملQuantitative Analysis of Translation Revision: Contrastive Corpus Research on Native English and Chinese Translationese
Demand for Chinese-to-English translation has increased over recent years. In contrast, resources for training translators for Chinese-to-English are few although increasing now, relative to English-to-Chinese for example. Corpus-based techniques are now more widely acknowledged as being appropriate for the study of translation. A number of Chinese/English parallel translation corpora have been...
متن کاملSyntax-Driven Machine Translation as a Model of ESL Revision
In this work, we model the writing revision process of English as a Second Language (ESL) students with syntax-driven machine translation methods. We compare two approaches: tree-to-string transformations (Yamada and Knight, 2001) and tree-to-tree transformations (Smith and Eisner, 2006). Results suggest that while the tree-to-tree model provides a greater coverage, the tree-tostring approach o...
متن کاملA Translation Method for Belnap Logic
In this report we present a translation of Belnap’s four-valued logic[1] into classical first-order logic. Soundness and completeness of the translation approach with respect to Belnap’s notion of entailment are proved. Examples derivations are also given. These results provide the basis for developing a belief revision approach for Belnap’s logic in terms of standard AGM [3] belief revision op...
